Tuesday, August 25, 2009
Dinara Safina is the No. 1 seed in the women's draw for the 2009 U.S. Open. That shouldn't be a surprise - most tournaments follow the world rankings when handing out seeds, and Safina is currently ranked No. 1. But Serena Williams is the defending champion, and won Wimbledon a month ago.

Mallika stuns everyone in a revealing outfit at the premiere of Inglourious Basterds
Saturday, August 15, 2009
Think you have seen all the insane things Mallika Sherawat can do? Think again. In fact, take a look at these pictures below. Mallika Sherawat recently attended the premiere of Inglourious Basterds which stars Brad Pitt in Los Angeles. I have no clue whatsoever about what she is wearing. Seriously! Mallika needs to have a better fashion sense. It's OK if she wants to expose a little but at least do it with a style.

Bollywood and its influence
Thursday, August 13, 2009
If you are from Southeast Asia then you probably know very well that we love to watch movies on a regular basis. If you are not, then you know now. Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis etc are die hard movie fans. We also love to eat and wear new clothes and jewelry. If you go to a crowded market in India, you can easily find numerous wholesale clothing shops, restaurants and much more.
Back to movies. Bollywood, India’s film industry, is one of the biggest and most popular in the world. When it comes to ticket sales and number of films produced, Bollywood is at the top of the list. Recently, Bollywood has been going outside India and gaining more popularity in countries with high number of Indians. There are other film industries in Southeast Asia too but Bollywood is the most dominating one and also very popular in countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh.
If you live outside India, you are probably familiar with its popularity. Bollywood is really famous in foreign countries like New Zealand, Australia, United States of America, United Kingdom and Canada. A lot of movies made in Bollywood earn most of their money outside India these days. In fact, some of the movies are specifically made for Indians living in these countries.
In the end, one thing that is important to remember is that Bollywood plays a very important role in the lives of Southeast Asians.

Flavia Pennetta
Italian player Flavia Pennetta dispatched the comebacking Maria Sharapova in the semifinals of the LA Women's Tennis Championships, beating the former world No. 1 in three sets.
Pennetta, the 10th seed in the tournament, is the No. 15 player in the WTA singles rankings. A win in LA would certainly improve that position.
